Gedenktag des heiligen Remigius, Bischofs und Bekenners
Am 1. Oktober 2026 feiert der traditionelle römische Kalender von 1962 (Vetus Ordo Missae) keinen besonderen Heiligen oder ein Fest, sondern begeht den "Donnerstag nach dem 18. Sonntag nach Pfingsten" als gewöhnlichen Werktag im Kirchenjahr, der als Feria bezeichnet wird. An solchen Tagen, die weder ein Hochfest noch einen Heiligen gedenken, richtet sich die Liturgie auf den fortlaufenden Ablauf des Kirchenjahres, insbesondere in der Zeit nach Pfingsten, die der spirituellen Reifung und dem Leben im Heiligen Geist gewidmet ist. In dieser sogenannten Zeit nach Pfingsten feiert die Kirche das Wirken des Heiligen Geistes in den Gläubigen und lädt dazu ein, den Glauben im Alltag zu leben und durch das liturgische Gebet zu vertiefen. Der Donnerstag nach dem 18. Sonntag ist daher eine Gelegenheit, das gewöhnliche christliche Leben neu zu betrachten und sich durch die Messe und das Stundengebet in den allgemeinen Heilsverlauf einzugliedern. Die liturgische Farbe ist grün und steht dabei für Wachstum und Hoffnung. Die traditionelle Ordnung legt Wert darauf, auch solche einfachen Ferientage bewusst zu begehen, um das Jahr spirituell zu strukturieren und in den Alltag hinein das Geschenk des Glaubens zu tragen.
