Gedächtnis des heiligen Ägidius, Abtes

Am heutigen Tag feiert der überlieferte römische Kalender von 1962 keinen besonderen Heiligen oder ein spezielles Fest, sondern es handelt sich um eine sogenannte 'Feria', konkret den Dienstag nach dem 14. Sonntag nach Pfingsten. Die liturgische Feier des Tages orientiert sich daher an den Texten und Gebeten des betreffenden Sonntags, solange nicht ein höheres Fest vorgeschrieben ist. Feriae sind im traditionellen Kirchenjahr wichtige Tage, die Raum dafür bieten, das liturgische und geistliche Leben in der Gemeinschaft sowie persönlich zu vertiefen: Sie betonen die fortlaufende geistliche Reise im Alltag und ermutigen zur beständigen Rückkehr zu den grundlegenden Wahrheiten des Glaubens. Die liturgische Farbe ist Grün – ein Zeichen für Hoffnung und für das ruhige, stetige Wachstum der Gnade im Christen.

Der Dienstag in der 14. Woche nach Pfingsten fällt in die Zeit 'nach Pfingsten', in der der Heilige Geist das Wirken und die Lebensführung des einzelnen Gläubigen und der Kirche prägt. Der traditionelle römische Kalender bewahrt damit eine rhythmische Abfolge von Hochfesten, Festen und Werktagen, um die Gläubigen durch das Kirchenjahr zu begleiten und immer wieder das Geheimnis der Erlösung im gewöhnlichen Tageslauf zu betrachten. Das Fest in der liturgischen Ordnung des Missale Romanum von 1962 ist also dieser schlichte Werktag – ein stilles, kontinuierliches Moment der Heiligung, das Raum für Gebet, Betrachtung und das stille Wirken Gottes gibt.
