Am heutigen Tag feiert der traditionelle römische Kalender von 1962 keinen besonderen Heiligen oder ein besonderes Fest, sondern begeht den sogenannten Wochentag („feria quinta“ – Donnerstag) nach dem 17. Sonntag nach Pfingsten. In der Ordnung des Vetus Ordo Missae nehmen die gewöhnlichen Werktage im Jahreskreis einen bescheidenen, aber wichtigen Platz ein: Sie lenken die Aufmerksamkeit der Gläubigen auf die fortlaufenden Abschnitte im geistlichen Leben und das stetige Fortschreiten durch das liturgische Jahr. Die liturgische Farbe ist grün und steht für Hoffnung, Wachstum und das alltägliche geistliche Leben in der Zeit nach Pfingsten, in der die Kirche das Wirken des Heiligen Geistes inmitten der Welt betrachtet. Die Messformulare an solchen Wochentagen nehmen meist die Texte vom vorherigen Sonntag oder aus anderen festgelegten Abschnitten des Missale Romanum. Diese Wochentage laden zur beständigen Vertiefung der sonntäglichen Botschaft ein und erinnern daran, dass das gewohnte, alltägliche Leben ebenso unter Gottes Führung und Gnade steht. Diese schlichte Feier des liturgischen Alltags trägt zur geistlichen Kontinuität und zur Einbindung der Glaubenspraxis in das tägliche Leben der Gläubigen bei. Es ist der Donnerstag nach dem 17. Sonntag nach Pfingsten gemäß dem traditionellen römischen Kalender von 1962.
