Gedenktag der heiligen Pacidus und Gefährten, Märtyrer
Heute feiert die traditionelle römische Liturgie nach dem Kalender von 1962 den Montag nach dem 19. Sonntag nach Pfingsten. Es handelt sich dabei um einen Werktag im liturgischen Jahreskreis, der sogenannten "Feria Secunda" (zweiter Wochentag, also Montag), die in diesem Fall keine eigene Heiligenfeier, sondern den Fortgang der Zeit im Kirchenjahr markiert. Die nachkonziliare Zeit zwischen Pfingsten und Advent ist im traditionellen Kalender durch fortlaufende Sonntage nach Pfingsten strukturiert, wobei die Wochentage keine eigenen Feste, sondern gewöhnliche Messformulare zu Ehren Gottes im Fluss des Jahres verwenden. Die Werktage dieser Zeit geben Raum für die tägliche Betrachtung und das stille Wachstum im geistlichen Leben, gestützt durch die Tugenden, die im Evangelium und den Gebeten der grün gefärbten Zeit aufgegriffen werden.
Das Grün des liturgischen Gewandes symbolisiert dabei Hoffnung, Wachstum und Ausdauer – zentrale Tugenden für das Leben im Glauben, besonders in Zeiten ohne festliche Höhepunkte. Die Festlegung solcher "feriae" entstand, um Kontinuität im Gebetsleben der Kirche zu gewährleisten, dem täglichen Gottesdienst einen festen Rhythmus zu geben und den Gläubigen zu helfen, das liturgische Jahr bewusst zu durchschreiten. Die Beibehaltung solcher Tage im traditionellen Kalender bewahrt die innere Ordnung und geistliche Ruhe, die die Messfeier auch außerhalb großer Hochfeste kennzeichnen soll: Jeder Tag ist Gelegenheit zur Heiligkeit und für die stets nötige innere Umkehr. So ist dieser Tag im Vetus Ordo dem gottesdienstlichen Alltag und der tiefen, häufig verborgenen Arbeit an der eigenen Heiligung gewidmet.
