4. KlasseMarien-Samstag
Der Marien-Samstag ist ein besonderer Gedenktag zu Ehren der allerseligsten Jungfrau Maria, der traditionell an Samstagen gefeiert wird, wenn kein anderes, vorrangiges Fest auf diesen Tag fällt. Die Verehrung Mariens am Samstag wurzelt in der Überlieferung, dass sie – im Gegensatz zu den verängstigten Jüngern – am Karsamstag standhaft im Glauben an die Auferstehung Jesu Christi ausharrte. Dieser Tag ist somit ein Ausdruck der marianischen Treue, Hoffnung und Liebe, die gläubige Katholiken zur Nachahmung einlädt. Im Laufe der Kirchengeschichte entstanden viele Formen der Marienverehrung an Samstagen; diese Praxis wurde vor allem im Mittelalter in verschiedenen Klöstern und Diözesen kultiviert. Papst Benedikt XIII. bestätigte schließlich im 18. Jahrhundert die Feier einer eigenen Messe zu Ehren Mariens am Samstag.
Das Fest erinnert die Gläubigen daran, im Alltag besondere Andacht für die Gottesmutter zu zeigen, Trost bei ihr zu suchen und sie um ihre Fürsprache bei Gott zu bitten. Die Liturgie dieses Tages ist schlicht gehalten, was die Demut der jungfräulichen Maria widerspiegelt, und doch ist der Weiße liturgische Farbton ein Zeichen für Freude und Hoffnung. Diese regelmäßige Erinnerung an Marias besondere Rolle im Heilsplan Gottes soll die Gläubigen stärken, in allen Herausforderungen des Lebens fest und gläubig zu bleiben, wie es Maria vorgelebt hat.
