Am 13. August 2026 begeht die überlieferte römische Liturgie nach dem traditionellen Kalender (1962) keinen Heiligen- oder Festgedenktag, sondern einen einfachen Werktag – eine sogenannte Feria. Dies bedeutet, dass der liturgische Ablauf am Donnerstag nach dem 11. Sonntag nach Pfingsten vorherrschend ist, und keine besonderen Heiligen oder Feste gefeiert werden. Der liturgische Rang ist niedrig (IV. Klasse), und die grünen Paramente verdeutlichen die Zugehörigkeit zum liturgischen Jahreskreis nach Pfingsten, einer Zeit des geistlichen Wachstums und der Nachfolge Christi im Alltag. Die Werktage nach Pfingsten laden die Gläubigen dazu ein, die Gnaden des Heiligen Geistes im gewöhnlichen Leben zu suchen und sich an den täglichen Lesungen und Gebeten der heiligen Messe zu stärken. Solche Ferientage bieten Raum für persönliche Andacht und Vertiefung im Glauben, fern von festlichen Zeremonien und besonderen Gedenktagen. Die Einfügung dieser Werktage im traditionellen Kalender hebt die Bedeutung des spirituellen Alltags und der Kontinuität des liturgischen Lebens außerhalb großer Hochfeste hervor. Die liturgische Disziplin der Kirche weist damit auf die Wichtigkeit hin, nicht nur an Festen, sondern auch an gewöhnlichen Tagen Gott zu dienen.
