Gedächtnis : Hl. Christina, Jungfrau und Märtyrin
Am heutigen Tag, dem Freitag nach dem achten Sonntag nach Pfingsten, begeht die Kirche gemäß dem traditionellen römischen Kalender von 1962 eine sogenannte "Féria" oder Werktag der achten Woche nach Pfingsten. Eine Feria ist ein liturgischer Wochentag ohne ein verpflichtendes Hochfest oder Gedächtnis eines bestimmten Heiligen; solche Tage sind wichtige Bestandteile des Kirchenjahres, da sie Raum für das tägliche Stundengebet, die Betrachtung der fortlaufenden Lesungen und die Pflege der eigenen Beziehung zu Gott im Rhythmus des Alltags bieten. In der Liturgie der Vetus Ordo steht an einer Feria die Farbe Grün im Vordergrund – ein Symbol für Hoffnung und Wachstum im Glauben. Die Lesungen und Gebete stammen an diesen Tagen meist aus dem sog. Proprium de Tempore, das die fortschreitende Betrachtung des Geheimnisses Christi zwischen Pfingsten und dem kommenden liturgischen Hochfest ordnet. Die Tatsache, dass im Überlieferter Ritus gewisse Wochentage als Feriae begangen werden, unterstreicht die Wertschätzung des gewöhnlichen Kirchenjahres, in dem Christen das erlebte Heil weiter vertiefen und im Alltag wachsen können. Die Feier der Feria sexta infra Hebdomadam VIII post Octavam Pentecostes im 1962er Kalender erinnert somit an die geistliche Fruchtbarkeit und Bedeutung der „gewöhnlichen“ Zeit.
Es handelt sich hierbei um die Feier der traditionellen (1962) römischen Liturgie.
