14. Sonntag nach Pfingsten
Heute begeht die Kirche gemäß dem traditionellen römischen Kalender von 1962 den 14. Sonntag nach Pfingsten. Die Sonntage nach Pfingsten bilden eine bedeutende Zeit im liturgischen Jahr, die auch als 'Sonntage nach dem Heiligen Geist' bezeichnet werden, weil sie im Licht des Wirkens des Heiligen Geistes in der Kirche gefeiert werden. Diese Zeit stellt das „grüne Zeit“ der Christenheit dar, geprägt von geistlichem Wachstum und dem Streben nach christlicher Tugend im Alltag. Der 14. Sonntag nach Pfingsten betont besonders das Leben aus dem Glauben und die Treue zur Gnade, die uns im Heiligen Geist geschenkt sind. Die liturgischen Texte dieses Tages fordern die Gläubigen auf, sich vom Zeitlichen zum Ewigen zu wenden und das Reich Gottes an die erste Stelle zu setzen.
Mit dem 1962 eingeführten Ritus bleibt diese Zeit nach Pfingsten bewusst von der Oster- und Weihnachtszeit unterschieden, um Raum für die Entfaltung der christlichen Tugenden im Alltag zu bieten. Die Kirche ruft uns an diesem Tag dazu auf, nicht nur äußerlich dem Glauben anzugehören, sondern ihn auch im Leben und im Alltag zu verwirklichen. Das geschieht durch Werke der Barmherzigkeit, das Halten der Gebote und das beständige Vertrauen auf die Führung des Heiligen Geistes. So ist der 14. Sonntag nach Pfingsten Gelegenheit zur geistlichen Erneuerung und Vertiefung der Beziehung zu Gott im Rhythmus des liturgischen Jahres.
