This policy explains what personal data CatéGPT collects, why, and your rights. It complies with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for EU visitors, the GDPR.
Data controller
The data controller is CatéGPT. For any question about your data: info@categpt.chat.
Data we collect
Account: email, display name, language and answer preferences. Usage: conversations, messages, references, favourites, reports. API: usage and billing. Security: an anonymous fingerprint and a hashed IP address to prevent abuse. Statistics: for usage measurement and security (legitimate interest), each question is linked to an approximate geolocation (country, region, city) derived from the IP address, and to the device, operating system and browser type. The IP address is never stored in clear text. Questions asked without an account may be retained in pseudonymised form for the same service-improvement and security purposes.
Purposes and legal bases
Providing the service (contract performance), improvement and security (legitimate interest), analytics (consent). Conversations are kept to provide your history.
Processors
Hosting: Vercel Inc. Database and authentication: Supabase. AI processing: OpenAI. Payments: Stripe. Anti-bot: Cloudflare Turnstile. Analytics and sign-in: Google.
Retention
Your data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account deletes your conversations and associated data.
Your rights
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection. To exercise them: info@categpt.chat. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent authority (FDPIC in Switzerland, or your national authority in the EU).
