Me, the Elder,
to the lady chosen by God, and to her children,
whom I love in truth.
I was very happy to find that several of your children
walk in the truth
according to the commandment we received from the Father.
And now, chosen Lady, I make a request of you:
let us love one another.
– What I am writing to you is not a new commandment,
we have had it from the beginning.
Now love is this, that we walk according to his commandments.
This is the commandment that you should walk in,
as you have learned from the beginning.
Many deceivers have gone out into the world,
they refuse to proclaim
that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh;
whoever acts like this is the deceiver and the antichrist.
Be on guard for yourselves,
so as not to lose the fruit of our labor,
but to receive your full reward.
Anyone who goes too far
and does not abide in the teaching of Christ,
that one is separated from God.
But whoever abides in this teaching,
that one remains attached to the Father and the Son.

At that time,
Jesus said to his disciples:
“As it was in the days of Noah,

People were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage,
until the day Noah entered the ark
and the flood came and destroyed them all.
It was the same in the days of Lot:
people were eating and drinking,
buying and selling,
planting and building;
but the day Lot left Sodom,
a rain of fire and sulfur rained down from the sky
and destroyed them all;
it will be just the same
on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
On that day, the one who is on the roof,
with his belongings in the house,
must not go down to get them;
and likewise, the one who is in the field,
must not turn back.
Remember Lot's wife.
Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it.
And whoever loses it will preserve it.
I tell you:
That night, two people will be in the same bed:
one will be taken, the other left.
Two women will be grinding grain together:
one will be taken, the other left.”
Then the disciples spoke up and asked him:
“Where, Lord?”
He answered them:
“Wherever the body is,
there also the vultures will gather.”
