Brothers,
Scripture has shut up everything under the dominion of sin,
so that it is through faith in Jesus Christ
that the promise may be fulfilled for believers.
Before faith in Jesus Christ came,
we were prisoners,
locked away under the domination of the Law,
until the time when this faith was to be revealed.
Thus, the Law, like a guide, led us to Christ
so that we might be justified by faith.
And now that faith has come,
we are no longer subject to this guide.
For all of you, in Christ Jesus,
are children of God through faith.
Indeed, all of you who have been baptized into Christ,
have put on Christ;
there is no longer Jew or Greek,
there is no longer slave or free person,
there is no longer male and female,
for all of you are one
in Christ Jesus.
And if you belong to Christ,
you are the descendants of Abraham:
you are heirs according to the promise.
